Rachel Contracting was hand-picked due to our advanced & accurate job tracking job tracking capabilities. The project began by demoing 3 existing chairlifts & other small structures. Then 3,400 CY of topsoil was stripped from the area of work before we could start our 15,000 CY of mass grading/common excavation. Rachel encountered bedrock in deep cuts, and ripped the first 6-8ft of rock. The remaining 5-7 feet of rock had to hammered down until the final grade elevations were reached. Once the site was to grade and respread the topsoil, Neaton Brothers come out to seed, mulch, & blanket the disturbed area for the new tubing hill. By ripping & hammering the limestone bedrock rather than using explosives. Vail Management/Afton Alps was happy with Rachel’s work in getting the job completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
