Phase 1 work of the demolition of the Roosevelt Elementary School section was performed in 2022. The work included the hand separation of Roosevelt Elementary and the mechanical demolition of the Three Level elementary school with a Volvo EC700 High Reach Excavator. All foundations were removed and over 8,000 CY of engineered fill was imported and placed in the basement void to bring the building up to grade. Phase 2 work started in September of 2023 and included the demolition of the Virginia High School, auditorium, gymnasium, pool and technical building. All slabs and foundations were removed and backfill was imported to bring the site back to grade. Work is scheduled to be finished in December 2023.
