Rachel Contracting was awarded the TVA Kingston Gas Plant project by Black & Veatch Construction. This project consisted of constructing 11 laydown yards spanning 40 acres. The Rachel site team encountered both soil corrections and rock excavation but still managed to effectively minimize the impact to schedule by mobilizing additional equipment to the site and strategically planning around these areas. Coordination with other earthwork contractors was a big component as three contractors all hauled excess material to the same stockpile with up to a dozen offroad trucks. 2025 work will include the backfill of foundations over the course of seven months.
