Kari Toyota, a well-known car dealership in Superior, Wisconsin, required the development of a new facility to support its continued growth. Rachel Contracting was selected to complete the sitework and utility installation for the project. A significant challenge encountered during construction was the discovery that the site elevation was approximately 8 to 12 inches lower than indicated by the original topographic survey. This required deeper excavation below the planned subgrade and the replacement of unsuitable material with non-frost-susceptible soil to ensure long-term stability. Despite this challenge, one of the key successes was the ability to accelerate the project timeline, completing work nearly two months ahead of schedule.
