County Run is located on the east-central border of Illinois and Indiana and was the first project Rachel Contracting has performed for Blattner Energy LLC. Right out of the gate, the project start date was pushed over month due to permitting issues. Half-way through project construction, Team Rachel was met with the challenges of DOT entrance re-design, unforeseen buried and abandoned oil pipelines/debris, and updated substation and switchyard drawings that doubled the amount of fill previously required to bring the site to grade. Not only were the clients happy with the Rachel team’s finished product, the talented crew onsite were able to beat the original project schedule and budget even after the significant increase in our scope of work.
