The Ramsey County Government Center is comprised of 6 individual buildings built from 1886 and 1964 up to 10 stories tall. The Adult Detention Center was constructed in 1976 and is 8 stories tall. The work included the demolition all 6 RCGC West buildings and the ADC building. In addition, the work also included the removal of all asbestos containing and hazardous materials, concrete processing, removal and capping of utilities, and restoration and repair of surface improvements. Another major component was bluff stabilization generally consisting of the installation of grouted rockbolts in the rear of the RCGC building; cellular concrete, lean concrete mix and /or granular fill; spray grout; and 18" and 24" structural reinforced cast-inplace concrete wall. Rachel also performed the excavation & disposal of contaminated soils.
